Gase Study: Collecting GNSS-based road use charges using smartphones in Norway<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case is growing for an alternative to fuel taxation for funding road infrastructure. As the share of electric vehicles grows, a more sustainable system of distance-based charges is needed to maintain tax revenues and deliver upon environmental and mobility-related goals.
With the right approach, a more sustainable system of distance-based charges can be established to help fund roads and transportation, reduce emissions, manage congestion and be acceptable to the travelling public.
